SoSoGay: Behind the Scenes

A huge thanks to Ade Bradley over at SoSoGay for conducting an interview with me about my gardening exploits. We met in a little chic venue in Angel so not only did I get to meet Ade but also explore an area which I don’t normally go to. Enjoy the article on me and what I’m about, and I hope you spend a bit of time browsing SoSoGay too.

Msalonen.com

Garden Clippings and Pet Nation

Life has been rather busy off late. Whilst winter has clung steadfastly on, stopping my allotment exploits and causing clientele to keep from phoning, TV work has rocketed. Following on from the highly successful autumn ‘Garden Clippings‘ last year, hosted by Sven Wombwell, this spring see’s Diarmuid Gavin take on the series to give viewers a taste of spring gardening. Whilst being bloody freezing when filming (it rained almost continuously for three days apart from when it snowed), we managed to get alot film and now, every Wednesday on This Morning you can see the new series. I’m not on camera, but at least you can see that, whilst away from blogging, I’ve been out and about with my green fingered nature. Check out the first in the series here.

Meanwhile, and not gardening, I’ve been having much fun filming a new series for Sky1 called ‘Liza and Huey’s Pet Nation‘. Hosted by Liza Tarbuck and Huey Morgan it is everything fluffy, furry, hoofed, clawed, winged that you can think off. A madness of studio’s and we had animals from giant horses to tiny chihuahuas and all have been very well behaved. The saying ‘never work with animals’ didn’t seem to fit that well because, on the whole, it was relatively controlled. Beginning at the end of March, Friday night’s at 8pm will bring a wonderfully bizarre pet mad show to your screens…and if you look carefully you might even see me carrying the world’s largest bunny onto the couch for a chat.

Holding a skunk…normal working life!

Welcome to The Guide to Gay Gardening's new look!

Living in the grey smog of London utopia, I forge my little existence in a slightly loopy, hermity, hippy manner, sharing my life with the hens, cats and other menagerie that have somehow taken over my life.

If I'm not enjoying the great outdoors with my netbook in hand, I'll be snipping, pruning, planting, cutting, propagating, shovelling, or just plain admiring. You can even catch the occasional glimpse of me on the TV now and then!

Take the weight off for a while. Sit back, relax, read, send me feedback, but mostly just take a moment and look around you.....mother nature is beautiful.
