An Ornithological, Heart Pumping Treat
I’m still recovering. My heart is beating with excitement and I’m telling everyone I know. I just had a flock of waxwings in my little garden (well next door actually, but close enough!!) Anyone who reads this blog from time to time will know how obsessed I am with wildlife and conservation…and when it comes to birds, they’re my greatest treat. Never in a million years did I expect to see a flock of these stunning birds in my garden, and not in the number that they arrived.
About 50 birds graced the crab apple tree of my neighbours garden, filling the air with an unexpected twittering that would be suitable only in the sweetest of lullaby’s. Scoffing as many delectable fruit as they could in the few minutes they were here, they disappeared as quickly as they arrived. Amazingly I actually had my camera in my hand, and whilst I only managed to get a couple of decent snaps, my hearts still racing from this wonderful encounter.
