Aah the sun. I’d forgotten the simple euphoric feeling that the sun actually brings to the skin, the spreading warmth, the uncontrollable smile, the urge to sing and dance (well perhaps that’s just me). The past few months, the damp squid that was our winter, has been grey, grey and more grey. In fact, looking back at our weather, I go so far as to say we haven’t even had a proper winter, a spattering of sleety snow, a slight nip in the wind, but an actual winter, I don’t think so.<\/p>\n
Still the sun over the past few days has been enlightening. After my morning job, a collage of snipping, cutting, some casual topiary of an oversized yew and a nice sprinkling of glass sharp lawn edging, I retired to Mary’s to sort out the front garden. How its got out of control so quickly! I hadn’t realised until I started weeding out the Celandines – which seem to be this years Borridge – that it had managed to grow so far away from me. I was happily boogying in the drive way to a Bleeding Love mix, the odd line slipping from my tongue, when I realised I was being watched! Oops! The girl from two doors up was happily laughing at my private party – all she needed to do was ask and I’d have happily let her join me in the frivolities! Still, I made her laugh as she jumped into her car and disappeared up the road.<\/p>\n
