Brimwood Farm – A New YouTube Channel
I’ve been going boring everyone to death of the smallholding dream over the past decade. I’m lucky enough to have some farming acreage in my family, and one day, when I have enough money, I want to relocate to Suffolk and build a house and farm the land. Though I’d be perfectly happy in a static caravan (that was always the plan when my time was up at my London home), hubby would not be; so it’ll be a planning permission push in a few years time.
I’ve started work on the farm this past year, with the wildflower meadow and bluebell wood projects. There’s LOTS still to do – coppicing the pit wood, planting new trees, dredging the mud-filled ponds, laying the huge and out-of-control hedges; the list goes on. I’ve also made some baby steps at home; starting our special breed chicken flocks, growing more of our own with a view to selling at Farmer’s Markets and beginning to rear young ornamental plants for a little nursery.
To push this further, I’ve started the Brimwood Farm YouTube channel. I hope to add some video content to the blog; little suburban projects, growing tips, life with the flock etc. Today I was inspired to make a Christmas wreath at no expense and with stuff from the garden; here’s how it turned out.
