A Sizzling Summer
I’m fast turning into a badly cooked sandwich, my chest a whiter shade of pale and my back a crisp oven-baked potato skin. With not a cloud in the sky and long hours crouched over herbaceous borders, bustling ponds and amongst overgrown shrubbery I’m well on my way to looking like a humbug! However if our latest glorious spell of sun wasn’t enough to warm the coldest of bones, the lovely guys over at Dobbies were kind enough to send me out some of their BBQ set to try out.
I’m a bit of a fan of theirs, not only is their blog an interesting read on a grey day, they’re actual plants people rather than the monotonous commercialism of other well known household centres. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll shop at these soul destroying places if I really need to but I’m always that little bit more inspired if I visit a garden centre where its immediately obvious that the people there have more than one green finger between them. And with 145 years under their belt I should think they know what they’re talking about.
Whilst I haven’t had a chance to fire up the BBQ yet I can’t foresee the weekend ahead not being host to at least one small smoky offering. And though it’ll test my self discipline to the max (I’m now not drinking until September due to a number of upcoming marathons) Dobbies well made and sturdy BBQ tools will come in VERY handy.
