Presenting Nerves
As some of you may be aware, starting on March 6th, I will be one of a team presenting a new gardening channel. Getting back to basics and offering informal and easy to understand advice, The Horticultural Channel.tv will aire on Sky 166, and Freesat 402 on Sunday mornings at 9am. Perfect for that breakfast coffee before trudging off the allotment I’ll be presenting ‘Tales From the Henhouse’, alongside my team Kris Collins, Claire Burgess and Jonathan Wallace and their respective segments. It’s a show made by gardeners, for gardeners. We’re not trying to be the god’s of our sections, or tell anyone how you must garden. We’re just trying to give a little insight into our gardening worlds and share some tricks and tips whilst trying to inspire people to get out and grow their own.
With my promo already filmed (see below), and filming this upcoming weekend, I might be getting a bit of stage fright! It’s a big deal for me, and the ultimate move in my career as a TV gardener. I’ve worked behind the scenes for many years, and now, flipping in front of the camera is scary as hell! But, with the warming weather and my happy hens busy preparing for their onscreen debut, I can’t say that I’m not just a bit excited about the whole thing.
With the episodes available on iTunes, and the Facebook group offering a great source of information for all gardeners, The Horticultural Channel.tv will hopefully be a great addition to everyone, helping to share tips and learn from one another. So have a little peruse around and get involved in the community…..I’m off to powder my nose!
